The maker of the piece was Thomas Jackson, born in England around 1733.  He had migrated to the colonials by the mid-18th century and died in 1806. Jackson is said to have completed projects in Maine, Boston, and Connecticut. The clock itself bears Johnson's name.  It has a six inch breakarch dial with a flat-top hood.  It has also a paneled front door and block base.
