Hours of Operation

April - October:  Open Tuesday - Sunday, 12-5.  Last tour at 4.

November-December:  Open Tuesday - Sunday, 12-4. Last tour at 3.

January-March:  Group and school tours by appointment only.

Tour Information

Regular house tours last approximately 50 minutes and run at the top of each hour. The last tour of the day is at 4:00 p.m. in the summer and 3:00 pm after November 1.  Tours include an overview of the history of house and its architect, the families who lived at the site, and the collections contained within the museum.  Patrons may also visit our exhibition gallery and our garden at no additional charge.

Group Tours

Tours for groups of 10 or more are available at a rate of $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. The Hammond-Harwood House can accommodate a group of up to 50 individuals. Special history field trips  are available for school children. For visitors with special needs, please call for individual arrangements. Bathroom facilities are limited.

There are two designated bus boarding areas in the downtown area. One is on College Avenue at Bladen Street, about three blocks from Hammond-Harwood House. The other is at the foot of City Dock, about five blocks from the house.

Architecture Tour

We also offer a two-hour, in-depth tour of the architecture of the Hammond-Harwood House.  This tour is available by appointment only. Please call 410-263-4683 x10. The cost of the tour is $20, or $15 for HHH members. 


Except on summer weekends, parking is generally available on the street, mostly at strictly monitored parking meters.  Free parking is available on weekends at the Bladen Street Garage, at the corner of Calvert and Bladen Streets, not far from the State Capital building.
